I have everything setup and functional with a secondary Zwave tilt sensor. The virtual 'Garage Door' device shows the Tilt Sensor and lists open/close correctly.

When integrating with Alexa I use a 4 digit voice code and it opens and closes properly, EXCEPT it says "Hmmm...I can't control the Garage Door right now. Please check on it" after every open/close. It works fine, but apparently the sensor isn't sending an open/close confirmation to Alexa to know the status? Anyone else having this problem or know a workaround?

If not already in the Amazon Echo Skill app enable "respond immediately without waiting for device".

just jumping in but I had a problem calling it 'Garage Door' vs 'The Garage door'. When I say 'Open Garage door' I get the virtual reference then a request for code. When I say 'Open THE garage door' I get the message 'I can't control that right now'.

Will this cause any issues with other devices/groups?

It won’t cause any issues but if you have an alexa show, it will not display the updated condition of the device when it pops up. It will show the previous state.

And sometimes she says OK but then nothing happens.
