I’m running two C7’s one in my house and one in my shop behind my house. They’re on the same LAN and sharing devices via hub mesh. They’re both on FW 2.5.0.109. However, the issue I’ll be describing occurs regardless of version since it’s been happening for over a year.
I’m also running the latest Hubitat mobile app on my Samsung GS24 Android phone with the latest updates.
Problem:
Randomly, when I’m home, my presence in Hubitat changes to not present which of course triggers some events (especially if my wife is also away). When I look at the Hubitat mobile app, it shows I’m in the geofence (and I am) but when I look at the presence device in Hubitat (associated with my GS24) it shows not present.
I have found that if I go into the Hubitat MA Geofence setting and just slide the slider to a bigger then smaller radius that seems to trigger something that corrects the situation and I can see the presence device in hubitat return to present at the same time. Note that it doesn’t return to present if I just open the app, which implies the app wasn’t sleeping.
So, it’s not clear why the Hubitat app is saying I’m away. I have the app prioritized in Android to not be put to sleep and of course share detailed location.
Any help would be appreciated. This makes the presence function pretty useless and I can’t find any alternatives for android mobile phones. My wife’s iphone seems to have exactly the same issue but with less frequency. The same trip of adjusting the geofence slider resyncs her presence in hubitat as well.
I’ve also included a picture of my Hubitat MA showing me inside of the geofence, a pic of my Sharptools dashboard at the same time but the tile in the top right (Steve) shows me away. Also I have the picture of the Hubitat presence device showing me not present.
