Running the iOS app and trying to use the geofence again. It never worked for me years ago, and it still does not work today. If I use the amazon alexa app or many others, they work most of the time. The Hubitat app FAILS most of the time.
I get the error "Geofence - Failed to post..." coming and going. My best guess is that this is because I do not have cellular service in the area where the geofence boundary is set. This is not excusable - the app should have a failover for this as others do (send the event once service is restored). Ok so why don't I alter the geofence size so that I cross it in an area where I do have service - such as the main highway? Because the app fails to allow that. The maximum size I can get utilizing the slider is quite small.
Perhaps I am doing something wrong and there is a workaround that utilizes the Hubitat app? It seems like some simple modifications to the app could make it perform this task a whole lot more reliably. Thanks for reading my grumpy post.
