Hubitat api not working

I recently purchased the C-8. Have been trying to get it online all morning without success. Google Home just loops with 'could not reach hubitat. try again later'. Using the hubitat website, I'm able to login, but I cannot execute any of the 'find my..' options - every single one generates a script error, either cross-origin errors or errors with hubitat trying to reach a non-secure api from a secure url.. which is a no-no.

whats going on? Is hubitat down?

No, it's up. I just tried it and got my full list of hubs.

What browser are you using? Firefox and Safari both have problems after recent updates:

I tried both chrome and firefox. They both have the same issues. I'm also unable to use the hubitat app on mobile, which seems to be just a kind of Electron wrapper for their website? Either way, it also does not work.

You say that you have trying to get your hub online all morning, but you don't say if it had ever been available online previously.

If you were successful in the past, and you login now, and you click on Registered Hubs, do you see any hubs listed? If you see your hub listed, then select Hub Details. What is the last Checkin time?

If you have never successfully logged in since your purchase, you need to know that the website (my.hubitat.com) cannot find your hub or provide any access to your hub, unless your hub first initiates a connection to the website (E.T. call home).

Login to your hub, open Settings, then Network Setup. In the top right corner you will find Network Tests. Try to ping my.hubitat.com to see if your hub can successfully make the call to home.

If you can't ping my.hubitat.com, then try pinging your LANs gateway, probably similar to 192.168.1.1.

I have the Hubitat C-8. It came with no instructions, just a qr code. Scanning the code takes me to findmyhub.hubitat .com, which is the core issue here. It seems that Hubitat has changed the process a bit maybe?

however i ran a nmap and managed to find the hub and connected to it. It was stuck at a 15% update of its database, so I switched to the diagnostic and did a firmware upgrade and that fixed it (although the db was then corrupt, but I had nothing on it anyway).

Finally got it set up with a dashboard and am adding stuff to it. So I'm good now, I think.
THanks!

Sorry, I guess I misunderstood your original post. I know that you said your hub was relatively new, but I didn't realize you were trying to perform the initial setup and registration. I thought that you were experiencing a more common problem of not having cloud access to your hub.

I'm glad you got it working and great job on diagnosing the problem. :+1:
