Ok, so in hubitat I have a basic rule,
I also have my hubitat hub linked to my Alexa and I have rooms and Lights set up, here is my issue. Since hubitat does not give us the ability to set a switch to on/off, it only has turns on AND turns off, If I walk into a room and “turn on” the switch it then turns on the lights, but if I say Alexa turn off the lights, the lights go off but the Switch does not, so in the morning when I walk back to the switch it is now off Hubitat’s rule because the lights are off but the switch is still on. So when I click it the switch it “goes off” now I have to wait and click it again, Turing the switch “on” so that the lights come on.
Couldn’t we get a toggle option or a on or off option on the switch
I have read that a couple times and don't quite get what you are saying.
You are physically using a switch, and it doesn't reflect that change in Hubitat? Or is this a virtual switch in Alexa?
Can you edit your reply above to include the switch names so we can match your rule with what you are saying?
Don't have the switches directly paired to alexa. Create a virtual switch that will activate those switches (that way HE always knows the status) and expose only that to alexa. Alexa will know the status of the virtual switch and HE will know the status of the light switches directly.
How do I set up a virtual switch in Alexa
You set up the virtual switch on HE, then in the alexa skill setting on HE, you expose it to alexa.
The switch is set up HE and linked to Alexa through that skill
Right DONT do that, use the virtual switch to trip them and HE will know the status of the switch regardless.
Ok I have a virtual switch set up, but how do I change the Actual Switch from on to off in HE,
If I tell Alexa to Turn off the Lights,
You need to create a rule that uses the virtual switch as a trigger to turn on those physical switches
Trigger (Virtual) switch
Action Turn on Light(S)
Like this?
Do I have to tie the virtual switch to actual switch
I think we are mis communicating on my issue.
I’m looking for way to tell hubitat to change my Phyiscal toggle switch from on to off, when the smart bulbs go off, with out physically touching the toggle switch
Right. What you have above works. Now that virtual switch needs to be exposed to alexa through HE's alexa skill
Also re reading things, let me ask you this. Do you have a smart bulb controlled by a smart switch? If so you will have problems. You would want a smart switch with a smart bulb option. What this will do is keep constant power to the bulb and then act as a button/scene controller to turn the bulb off and on... Is this how you have things set up? Or is the light switch controlling a regular table lamp with a dumb bulb?

The work around I did for this was to set a rule stating that when the desk light and the lamp go off, it will turn off the switch, now when he tells Alexa to turn off the lights, she will turn them off, HE will see the status change and change the switch to off,
