For what itâs worth I had exactly this and it was a huge fail, it had previously worked so I donât know what changed. I had scheduled a daily and weekly but like I said the backup files were very small.
My hub died last night too. I sent an email to support and havenât heard anything back. Light is blue but web isnât responding and none of my automations are working.
Died meaning reset to blank hub or died as in dead wonât boot? Mine originally just blanked itself basically to factory new
Died as in I donât even get a boot screen and itâs not responding on port 80 or 8081. I have the c4. Not sure what to do at this point and havenât heard from support at all.
Does anyone have the instructions on how to do a factory / full reset? I already have a backup of my hub from 4 days ago which should put me back to very very close to where I was. Thanks.
Try this first, before a Full Reset.

The hub is unresponsive on port 8081. Canât get to that page or on the normal port 80. Hoping @bobbyD can help me figure this out and my radio is still good since itâs external and I already have a backup from 4 days ago. I have an email into support. Just waiting.
With the external dongle, I think you should be up and running if you get a new hub and restore your backup.
Iâm hopeful... hopefully I hear back from support soon. You get used to lights coming on at the staircase when youâre walking at night and when they donât it could be dangerous. Lmao!
It took far too much explaining last night. My wife kept listing all the things that would not work with the hub down.
âSo the front door wonât lock? No you need to go lock itâ
âthe lights on the aquarium? No go turn them offâ
âThe espresso machine wonât be ready in the morning? No weâll need to wait for it in the morningâ
Yes honey ALL THE THINGS stopped working. We have to push buttons like normal people, yuck.
It was a stressful few hours
Hahaha I bet!
We have all been there. Feel for you.
I even caught it last week while after updating a Zen27 FW and my undercabinet lights were not working quite right for a couple days. And I warned her about it. So easy for the WAF to tank. Geesh.
Iâm sure you could define waf mathematically where the increase is linear but the decrease in waf is logarithmic. Or like trust hard to gain, easy to lose!
Does your hub still show up on an IP scan ?
Negative...
For S & G, since you have a blue light. could try a different ethernet cable as well as a different port on your router/switch.
Been there done that. Lol no change.
Last Hopeful suggestion- try another power supply.

What color is the LED on the Front??
None = no power
Red = Shutdown/halted (with power)
Blue = loading Platform OS
Green = Platform OS is running
Note: Those are my shorthand translations of the LED color. There may be nuances I'm not aware of.
If you have BLUE for more than 2 mins, then your Hub has no Platform software, is my interpretation. To get platform software, then you need to do the recently unveiled Factory reset process. It will erase EVERYTHING on the Hub (but not touch the ZRadio - despite the words that warn it will) and the last phase of that is to go fetch a new copy of the latest platform. So.. this is similar to Soft Reset, in that the DB is erased but MORE So... everything is erased. It's one step shy of a Hard Reset.. because a Hard Reset DOES clear the ZRadios.
Here's the important part of the message, it takes several, 5 at least, minutes to download and install. You don't see this progress. It will complete. But leave your hands off for a minimum of 5 mins. Don't try to help it.
Like the sign says.. Helping costs extra
The light is blue... has been now for two days. Iâve powered it off, powered back on. Swapped power supplies, swapped network cables, and tried a different port on my switch. I am unable to access the device on port 80 or 8081. I donât want to lose my radios on my usb stick (I have the c4 model). If I canât access port 8081 how can I do this reset to get the software back on the device or is my unit dead dead?
