Hub Not Showing Device Status Properly After Update To Newest Version 2.4.1.164

Since updating my Hubitat C8 Pro to the latest version of the UI (2.4.1.164
) My device status is being underreported (There are 3 devices in the ON state and it's only showing 2 in the ON state)

This was working fine before I updated the UI earlier today.

There are no error messages shown on the hub status screen

My experience is that you sometimes have to "exercise" or refresh the devices to get them to report after an update. Not all of them, and not all the time, but several and some of the time, lol.

Yes the latest updates have trashed my 184 device network. Devices don’t respond, automations are broken. A great example of the great Hubitat experiment. Note to self, if it works never ever update.

You would think they would acknowledge the failure and at minimum publish explicit instructions to unscrew a network after an update.

I think things are good at .161

I've also tried issuing a mass "refresh" with mixed results. The hub chokes on it. It'd have to be phased somehow.

There are some issues (nothing's ever perfect), but it's really hard to offer suggestions with such a broad comment.

A few more details would be helpful:

  1. What protocol do the devices used (Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter, Cloud web, local web, etc.)?
  2. If they are Z-Wave, are you running the legacy or new Z-waveJS on the hub?
  3. Are you looking at the state on a device information page or a dashboard?
  4. If they are z-wave, does your z-wave details show "ghost" devices (devices that have no route and/or don't actually exist)?
  5. How did you turn the devices "ON"? (a command from the hub, physically from the device, etc.}
  6. Have you tried shutting the hub down? (from the "Settings" page, SHUTDOWN. After the shutdown screens says it is safe, disconnect the hub from the power for about 30-60 seconds--then plug it back in. This will reset the radios (especially the Z-wave one)

More details will help others help you out--or help pinpoint a bug.

Note: With Z-WaveJS, there are some issues with the Z-Wave radio getting "jammed" when it gets busy. These issues are bugs with the radio firmware from Silicon Labs, not the Hubitat software. There's some hope things will be further improved when Silicon Labs releases the next update into "stable production" and, after that, when Hubitat provides the update for its hubs.

So it is working fine now since 2.4.1.161?

Or are you asking for help? Its not really clear from your post.

Just making an observation. It was very stable on that version, it always seems that when multiple revisions are made in rapid succession that problems arise. Unless something isn’t working, it seems much safer to never update unless absolutely needed.

A lot of people aren't seeing those problems, so your situation is potentially unique.

Usually, multiple revisions address problems more than they cause.
