Hub Mesh

My mesh does not consistently connect between the hubs. I have three hubs... Reasonable distance between the hubs, thus the need for three. Unfortunately, every few days one or all three hubs will stop talking to each other...which kills the Google home integration. Any suggestions?

Currently using 3 C8 hubs
All on the same version: 2.3.5.152
All connected via ethernet - all on assigned IP addresses from the router (not Hubitat)

Great Room Hub - constantly drops of the mesh network

Basement Hub - connects to the garage

Garage Hub - connects to the Basement

Biggest use for me is the Google home integration...unfortunately, I don't know of a way to have all three hubs connected to google home.

Since Hubitat's Hub Mesh relies on each hub's LAN connection... How are your three hubs connected to your home network?

Next question is what exactly does your home network look like? What network hardware are you using?

It definitely sounds like something is taking the network out from underneath the hubs periodically.

I am running multiple hubs with Hub Mesh on a Ubiquiti UniFi network, with all hubs connected via Ethernet (not WiFi.) All hubs are on the same VLAN. I have never had Hub Mesh go down.

Agree with @ogiewon. I have 5 hubs all on Unifi equipment via ethernet connection and have never had a hub mesh issue. 4 are located in the same network closet while my Dev hub is upstairs in my office.

Three hubs in three different buildings on our property. Only time I've had the Hubitat mesh fail was when there was a network issue. Seeing that you have C8s I'm guessing that one or more hubs are using wifi. That's where I'd look.

When you say they drop off the mesh network, are you referring to the device updates no longer coming through in HE, but you are able to access the HE hub web UI? Or are they dropping off your LAN altogether, i.e. you can't even access them via the web UI? The main reason I ask is because the first hub you showed the screenshot for doesn't appear to have any hubs listed that it communicates with. Or was this just to illustrate the point that it disconnects regularly?

Hubs are not connected on the hubmesh, but are still on the network.

Everything is Ethernet connected. I am using Asus ai mesh...all assigned IP addresses.

The hubs are on the network, just not connecting to the HUB MESH part consistently.

My dashboards will constantly say offline for anything connected to the hub mesh. I can still go into the actual registered hub and control the device. Just not from the control hub.

Are the Asus AI Mesh devices connected to each other via Ethernet cables? Or do they utilize WiFi for their interconnections?

Sounds like the HE Hubs are all connected via Ethernet cables to your home network, so thatโ€™s probably the most reliable solution.

When I had multiple Asus routers connected via Ethernet cables and running AI Mesh, I would occasionally still have strange issues that required the Asus Hardware to have to be rebooted. I eventually moved my whole home network over to Ubiquiti UniFi, and havenโ€™t had any issues since. No more complaints from the family requiring me to troubleshoot the home network!

All of my AI mesh network hubs are connected by a ethernet. I've been fairly happy with the ASUS AI mesh network... I have been looking at unify.
