Hub Mesh stopped working overnight

Overnight my two hubs stopped talking to each other. No changes made to either one recently. Both are assigned static IP addresses through my router. No changes to any of this recently. This morning I tried rebooting, did a full shutdown of both, unplugged for 30 seconds, restarted both, took backups from both, and updated both to the latest 2.3.9.201 platform version. Disabled and re-enabled hub mesh with reboots in between. No change.

I do not have UI security enabled on either one, so no hub tokens defined.

I can reach each hub's UI independently through my browser. They just don't see eachother.
Both hubs are C-7. Any ideas on where to go next with this?

Shouldn’t need to, but you could try running

http://<HubIP>/hub/advanced/setInitialHubMeshPeers?<List of other Hub IPs>

from each

Just did this on both. No change unfortunately....they still aren't seeing eachother.

If you go to Settings|Hub Mesh and click the Reconnect button does anything happen?

I get a confirmation that it's reconnecting, but nothing else happens after that.

I rebooted both again and still nothing. Polled each one using getInitialHubMeshPeers and the entries are correct. Still don't see eachother though.

It can take several minutes after a Reconnect for you to see anything. What does the Hub Mesh screen show under Active Hubs? If there are hubs listed there you coudl try requesting an Immediate Sync (will take a few minutes to complete).

There's nothing listed at all under either one of them.

I tried changing IP addressess of both hubs, and updated the HubMeshPeers settings. Full Disable / reboot / enable / reboot cycle and still no change.

In the hub setting of the hub you are sharing the devices. You need to fill in the token from the hub getting the mesh device. Took me hours to figured this out after I updated my hub because I didn't read the release notes.

Is this a new requirement? I've never used this before and haven't had any issues before now. I don't have UI security enabled.

Don't know but hope it will work for you. I have UI security but didn't have to do this before either.

I don't think this applies since I don't have UI security enabled....also there's nowhere to input that token since the hubs don't even see eachother. From the documentation, I would need for the hubs to see eachother before I can do anything with the token:

Shouldn't need the token if not using Security, but you are showing an active hub, so HubMesh working for at least one other hub.

This screenshot is not mine - it's from the Hubitat documentation site for Hub Mesh.

Currently trying a soft reset on both hubs....

Both hubs have been reset and restored. So far still not seeing eachother.

Reboot your router and any network switches you are using. The only time this has happened to me, the switch was the culprit. I very rarely reboot them and probably should set a schedule to at least do it monthly. You may need to reboot your hubs afterwards.

I'll try that this evening when wife and I are done with work

It sounds like the same exact thing that happened with my hubs a month or two ago. All 3 hubs stopped communicating with each other, all connected to the same switch, which has been so solid that it was the last thing I thought of rebooting. Of course this was after rebooting, powering down, rebuilding databases, pulling out my hair, cursing, etc.

So here's something interesting. I remembered I have an old C-4 hub sitting in a drawer, decided to fire it up and see which hubs see what.
"Home": C-7 (primary)
"Shop": C-7
"Garage" C-4

Shop and Garage see eachother now. Neither of them see Home, and Home doesn't see either of them. So it appears there's some problem specifically with the Home hub. Home and Garage are on the same network switch, which is attached directly to my main Orbi router. Shop is in a detached shop, connected to an Orbi satellite.

Not sure what to do with this info, but I do find it interesting that 2 of the 3 hubs see eachother, but my primary one does not.

My Third hub did actually see one or two of the others, but they didn’t see it for what it’s worth.
