I wanted to know how I can have the mode changed based on the HSM Status. I created a rule on rule machine where the trigger is the HSM status and the condition indicates if the HSM Status is Armed Home then the mode will mirror and so on for Armed Away and Disarm. It is not firing off so how can I get this to work or is there a work around. I keep reading about virtual switches, but I am not understanding how these work. If someone can provide me with steps on creating these to so I can have the Modes mirror the HSM Status, I would greatly appreciate it.
Can you share a screenshot of the rule? Perhaps someone will be able to find a problem with it that you can fix to make it work as expected. What you want should be possible — just a matter of creating the right automation.
As an alternative approach, the Hubitat Safety Monitor app has a way to "trigger" HSM arming/disarming in response to mode changes in case changing modes and then using that to change HSM makes more sense for your setup (sort of the opposite order, but it may work, depending on your goals); that much is built into HSM and wouldn't require any rules.
