HSM Configure Alerts for Arming Failures

Hello all, I am using HSM with the option to Configure Alerts for Arming Failures. This section of the code states that you can Configure Alerts for Arming Failures and Bypass Warnings (contacts open).

My question is this; does the system arm and send an alert or not arm and send an alert? Just looking for some clarification on how this is coded. Thank you.

Mine does not arm, sends alert

This depends on how you have HSM configured. You can make it do either of those:

Thank you for the reply - I feel I may be doing something that is not in the correct order. I use Modes to arm/disarm my system from my phone. When I select a Mode, it runs a rule like this;

When mode becomes ArmAway ...
Set HSM to Arm Home
Wait until mode becomes DisarmAll, then ...
Set HSM to Disarm All

It seems that even if I use the option outlined below, the system DOES let me know that a door/window is open, but it still arms.

Any thoughts on how to improve my config?

If you choose any sensors in the auto bypass I think it would do that

Thanks for the follow-up. I will continue to test...

My screenshot (which you linked to, not sure if you meant to include information about your own setup) links to both options, so the question is which you actually used. You can use both; I just happened to have only used one in my screenshot, and it's the one that will still arm if the sensors are open, my reasoning being that I still want to arm what I can if something gets stuck in an odd state for whatever reason.

As the other posters suggests, if this isn't what you want -- and it sounds like you don't -- you'd want basically the opposite set up of mine.

This is also how it used to work back when there was only one way to select such sensors, so if you see any fairly old posts that describe (or assume) only this behavior, that is also likely the explanation.
