Yes, it's old firmware. Because I'm trying to include old devices that won't work with newer firmware. But, having decided to finally buy Remote Admin, I can't find a way to do it. Any suggestions, gang?
Remote Admin requires platform 2.2.6 or later. Earlier versions will not be able to connect to the service.
What specific problem are you trying to address with 2.2.4?
In another thread I've been detailing my attempts to pair a lot of Iris v1 devices. The C-7 hub I have isn't giving me a choice of suitable firmware to roll back to... I have my choice of 2.2.4 or 2.4.3 which won't pair the things.
Attempted http://192.hub.IP.Address/hub/advanced/downloadPlatform/224 (and all other possible endpoints to get something in between, but al I get s a 404 Error.
I have the iris V1 issue as well. I just roll back when I need to pair a device, it isn't like you are pairing one every day or even every week.
Those endpoints do work, but if you were using the exact one you copy/pasted, it will not work with the "hubIPaddress" like that, it needs to be your exact hub IP.
It also takes forever to download any of these via endpoint, so you have to be very patient. I think I have seen upwards of 10 minutes for the download to finish.
Yes, I deff put in the proper IP address…. Just get 404s….
So you can just go backwards any time you want without messing up newer rules and devices?
Sort of.
Don't mess with anything else while you do this. Don't add the device to hubmesh, don't make any new rules with this device. Just pair the device, and roll forward.
It can really mess things up if you change anything that has had an update (rule machine, device drivers, etc) between the rolled back firmware, and current firmware.
You also need to be on a newer hub version for these to work.
(On yours, there are a few hard-coded ones for specific older versions, but it won't work for anything newer.)
Certain platform versions introduce database changes, but I don't think 2.3.1 or so, which is probably all you'd need, is one where there has been one since. In any case, it's a good idea to download a hub backup so you can restore it later if needed. Because these do not contain the hub platform software itself, just your database, it's an easy way to get things back if you find something is off after re-upgrading.
2.3.8.140 and earlier works, and 2.3.9.xxx and newer all fail for Iris, for me at least. So I do think 2.3.1 should work.
FWIW, in case you were, you don't need to hide your hub's IP address, it's not a security issue at all. My hubs are at 192.168.20.2, .3, and .4, for example. No one can use that info to do any harm.
@bertabcd1234 - just tried it and the download link failed on my hub (C8 on 2.4.3.171). I used 192.168.20.4/hub/advanced/downloadPlatform/224
I just hit that endpoint and there was no message or error at all. When I went to the diagnostic tool, it was there in previous versions tab.

Worked for me as well. Not that I think anyone needs to quite go back to 2.2.4 for this. ![]()
Me neither, just testing generally. ![]()
Interesting...trying it again.
Yup - second time around got Success. I guess the endpoint is just a little shy. ![]()
Wait, what? I need to be on a newer version to get a newer version? Sorry I'm getting confused here. In case I wasn't before.
You need to be on a version newer than 2.2.4 to use the endpoints to download a version newer than 2.2.4, even if your desired version is somewhere in between. The endpoint to download an arbitrary version was not added until some time after 2.2.4.
I'm on 2.4.0.148 on a C7 and I have quite a few Iris devices, and I just recently added an Iris V1 keypad and it added ok. What iris devices are you having trouble with? I could probably test adding one to my system @Dustyd5. Is this really a known issue?
