How to Reset a device that has reported tamper?

I have some door sensors that have a tamper child device and when the battery was changed the tamper was set to detected because the cover was off. When the cover was put back on the tamper was not reset to clear.
Is there a command of some sort that can be used to reset this tag so it reads correctly? Thanks

Would it be possible to just remove the cover and then put it back again? This should cause the device to send a tamper clear to the hub.

If the device offers a "Refresh" command, that might also work to fetch the current states. (Z-Wave devices might require a wake, or more waiting if you don't want to; consult the manual for your device for how. Zigbee are usually listening.)

Removing the cover and then putting it back on unfortunately does not clear the tag. Thanks for the reply.

I tried Refresh and it added a line on the right side of the device page that says pendingChanges : 6. So not sure what it sees as changes to be done, I shall see. Perhaps when it reports battery something will be sent about the tamper condition. Thanks

Sounds like a Z-Wave device waiting for a wake-up to happen, then. Your device manual may say how to do one manually, otherwise a lot of times I think these are set to around once or twice a day.

Yes it is an older Dome window sensor so it may fix the issue itself. I will give it 24 hrs and see. Thanks again.

It should, unless the device is no longer communicating to the hub at all. If you pull the cover it should send a tamper alert, and when you replace it, it should send a tamper clear.

Does it report when you open and close the window/door?

It does show open/closed when triggered. If I open the cover and press the button once and close the cover it blinks green about 5 times but still no change. If I open the case and press the button 3 times (same as include/exclude) and close the cover it blinks 5 times again but still no change. I did notice when I included it that the driver of choice was DMDP1 and the device is a DMDP2. So I don't think there would be much/any difference but who knows.

EDIT: Ended up excluding/including it again and replacing the battery even though it read 57. So all good now. Thanks everyone.
