How to reconnect/reinitialise a device

I have recently installed 2 domitech zwave smart LED bulbs. They installed OK but, possibly because I am having work done that involves switching off power to the lighting circuits now and then, one of them occasionally stops working with HE. The device page shows it changing from on to off ok but the bulb does not respond accordingly. I can manually switch the bulb ok. I have tried configuring and saving the device again but that makes no difference. I was sure in older versions of the firmware there was a reinitialise or reconnect button under zwave settings for a device but I can't find it now. The only way so far I have found to reconnect is to remove the device completely and reinstall it but obviously then I have to reset any Rules etc that call it. Is there a better way to force a reconnect to a device?

Settings > Z-Wave Info > Exclude (then follow device manufacturers instructions for Excluding)

When successfully excluded, add back with discovery on the devices page

But doesn't that give a new device id and therefore you loose any references to it in RM etc? I'm trying to avoid that.

Yes. In my experience that is that case. But it's not responding correct? Seems to be the only choice you have it if you want to use that device. You can try Z-Wave repair, but I've never had an success with it.

You can use the ZWAVE PC Controller software to do a failed device replace.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't have any PC zwave software and really dont want to unplug my usb stick. I want to keep any solution within HE if at all possible.

Am I wrong that there used to be a re-initialize option in the firmware? Did that not do what I want to do?

I don't recall one, but you can always contact support and find out. If there was, maybe you could request it be put back in a future firmware update. Perhaps though, if it was there it was removed because it wasn't effective.
