I have 2 Philips Hue bulbs in my Hue Bridge Integration app. In my Amazon Echo Skill app I turned off Exclude Hubitat Integrated Hue Devices and I made sure both are under Selected Devices.
I then when to my iPhone and went into my Alex App. Under devices I clicked the "+" in the upper right corner. It found one as connected via Hubitat (which is what I want) but the other only connects via Netherlands B.V. (i.e. Philips).
I need them both to connect via Hubitat as I found that Hubitat doesn't "see" an event if I use Alexa to turn a bulb on or off that is connected to Alexa via Philips, as opposed to being connected via Hubitat.
So my question is: How can I connect a Philips Hue bulb to Alexa via Hubitat and not via Philips?
Thanks,
Stuart
Are you positive that it wasn’t already connected? I never have to discover devices shared from HE to Alexa. They are discovered immediately.
I tried it one more time and this time it came in. I'm not sure why it didn't before. Oh well.
Unchecking the "Exclude Hubitat integrated Hue devices" box in the Echo Skill app should be all you need to get them to Alexa via Hubitat. I'm not sure why that wouldn't be working for you [EDIT: guess it is now...yay!].
That being said:
This shouldn't be the case in absolute terms, though there will be a delay given that Hubitat has to poll the Bridge for current device states (the current Hue API has no way to "push" changes out immediately). The default interval is 1 minute and can be set in the Hue Bridge Integration app on Hubitat. If this isn't actually a problem (e.g., you have no automations that depend on immediate state changes), just waiting should be fine, though you can lower it if you want or manually refresh the Hue Bridge device in Hubitat (the Bridge, not the bulbs/groups) to update the state whenever you want, as well. If that's set and never works, then there's (another?) problem.

Thanks. My last post and yours crossed in the night. I was able to find it. Maybe I was just looking too quickly.

I have all my Hue devices connected to the Hue bridge. Then I installed the Hue integration app in Hubitat so the Hue devices show up in Hubitat.
I do not have the Hue devices connected directly to Alexa. I used the Alexa skill to connect all of the devices in Hubitat to Alexa. That is Ignore Hue devices is turned off.
If I connected the Hue devices directly to Alexa, I would ignore the Hue devices from Hubitat. I have found Hubitat to be quite flexible. Often there are multiple ways of accomplishing the same objective.
