A ZSE44 LR of mine has high battery usage.
I want to update the firmware.
How do I do this?
The Hubitat firmware updater app only seems to have non-LR devices.
I haven't done firmware updates on an LR device, apparently, so I don't know how to do this.
Any help appreciated.
edit: I'm on JS
Excluding the device, including as mesh, upgrading firmware, excluding device, re-including as LR device, apps, etc, would be a drag. Has this been fixed? Is there a way?
You can try that alternate flow, but I recall having some kind of issue with it on JS.
As the writer of that flow, I suppose I should know better, but since that write-up was orginally targeted to S2 devices updates, I've quit using it since the built-in method was finally fixed (pre-JS) for S2/LR... But I'd be curious to hear if that method works for anyone else on LR/JS.
At one point after JS rolled out, I know I successfully used the built-in method to update LR (and mesh S2) devices on JS -- I discovered the hard way that a reboot was necessary between update attempts, but it did work overall.
I know because that's how I updated my own LR/JS zse44s to 2.10 this past spring.
But more recently, I've been unable to update an LR devices on JS using built-in updater... For my zse11, I had to put in back on mesh to do the update.
So hopefully @bcopeland can take a look at the built-in updater -- since it was working with JS at one point, hopefully it's not a huge lift to get it back on the rails.
I successfully updated firmware in mesh mode.
Dashboard was the only rule involved for this device-I have several more, with one having more complex rules. @jtp10181 's SmartStart app helped with the transitions, as did a few 4-clicks to wake up the device.
