What I Want to Do: I want Hubitat to send me an email telling me that - in this case - my leak detector under the kitchen sink has detected a leak.
What I Tried: See the attached screen shot. I am sure I am doing this wrong, but don't see a way to send an actual email. (the address shown is a dummy as I don't know how to draw lines through things in a jpeg using a Mac.)
You need SMTP (or a service that does so on your behalf, which I'm guessing doesn't exist in your setup), not HTTP POST, to send email. The easiest built-in option for this is webCoRE, which has built-in email sending capabilities. There are also community options that may work, depending on your e-mail server.
Just a thought.. you could probably use Alexa to send an email, by using Echo Speaks voiceCmdAsText command. It may require Alexa+, I've never actually sent an email using Alexa.
Voice commands to Alexa+ are really AI prompts now... so maybe by just building a string containing "Send Email To:..., Subject:... Body:... ", and then sending it as a voice command with Echo Speaks, could be a round-about way to send the email using existing tools.
Or I'm just talking crazy... I need to play around with that now to see if it works.
FWIW I gave up here in Canada with my local and probably other countries as well.
I changed my 3 accounts over to Pushover from SMTP for a forever fee of 10.00 USD (?).
Enhanced driver works great and you can do things like colour, bold etc.
