The instructions that came with my C-7 have images that are too small to discern, so apologies if they include relevant information, but I don't see it.
I have a C-7 and a generic repeater (that only works on 2.4 GHz) that will connect to my home's WiFi 6e Mesh network.
The setup: 3 Amysen Smart Plug outlets (Alexa, but not ZigBee & only work on 2.4 GHz) in two different rooms. I have configured two of them to work with the included Cloud Intelligence app.
I want to connect the Repeater to the Mesh network, then connect the C-7 to the Repeater's RJ-45 port.
It seems to me that, if I integrate Alexa with the C-7 via the Repeater/Mesh/Internet, then I would also be establishing a link to the Amysen units. Is this correct? Or have I just bought myself some aggravation?
If the above works, then how do I integrate Alexa on two different phones with the home setup?
What you do you mean with "integrate Alexa"? Hubitat's Echo Skill allows you to share Hubitat devices with Alexa. There is no means (with Hubitat or any other platform -- this just isn't something Amazon provides a way to do) to share Alexa-only devices out to other platforms, at least not without creating workarounds like virtual devices. It sounds like you might be trying to get these Alexa-only outlets into Hubitat somehow, which is not supported (at least not without some kind of workaround like that). If you are new, for the least amount of headache, I'd recommend starting with known compatible devices.
Assuming you're using the Skill as intended, there's no reason you can't just use the Alexa app on two phones. That's a cloud connection to Amazon, and once Hubitat is linked to it via the skill, it doesn't really care what device you're actually using it on -- though I'm not sure if that's really the question.
I seem to have edited out useful information. The devices are listed as "Amysen Smart Plug, Smart Home WiFi Outlet Works with Alexa, Echo, Google Home, No Hub Required".
It is my intent to add some battery-powered, pushbutton ZigBee Smart Switches, which is why I got the C-7 Hub, but I thought most of the configuration problems would be getting two different phones with two different Amazon logins to use Alexa to talk to the same Smart Plugs for when we don't want to use the pushbutton switches.
How do you want to control the smart plugs from the two phones? Via voice commands or via the devices interface in the Alexa app (a dashboard of sorts)? If a dashboard then you could use an HE dashboard for that. You will need to create a virtual switch and some Alexa routines to link your buttons up to the Alexa plugs, so in doing that you could also put the virtual switch on an HE dashboard and share it to any device you want.
