I have a GE Zwave Plus Smart Dimmer switch (14294). I have it connected to Hubitat and can control it via the device page. I want to setup voice control via Google Home. I can't figure out how to get Google Home to recognize it. They don't even list GE on there "Works with Google list. I've read post where others mention having the switch connected to Google Home but no one I've found says how they did it. I would appreciate any help.
Google basically has nothing to do with being compatible with Zwave or Zigbee stuff. Hubitat and Google just generically talk back and forth. Something like:
Hubitat: "This is a light switch"
Google: "Turn on that light switch"
Nothing to do with GE, Zwave, or any of the rest of that.
So I guess the question is, did you install the Hubitat Google integration app?
Edit to add the link to the Google Home app instructions:
New post just because that is a whole different topic. Yes, you can control most any device like a light switch via Alexa. It is similar to above. You need to use the Echo Skill app to get Hubitat paired with Alexa.
I figured it out. Unlike many of the other fields there was no arrow to indicate the box was clickable and it already had a device in it. Went back to the app and clicked the box and discovered the drop down list of devices. Probably would have got it right away had there been an arrow on the box as there is on the other boxes there indicating there was more to find if you click it.
Oh well. It's working now. Lesson learned. Always see if you can click a box.
