How do I delete a Simple Automation whose name exceeded 255 characters?

I accidentally give a SAR a really long name and now I can neither edit nor delete it, because whenver I click on it, I get this error message:

Unexpected Error

An unexpected error has occurred trying to load the app. Check Logs for more information.

Error: Invalid label length, maximum size is 255 characters

I've since recreated the rule but, I'd like to delete this one but I can't.

Can you click on the gear symbol beside this particular rule (be sure it is not the main app) and remove it from there?

In a future platform release, would it be possible to truncate such excessively long rule names to 255 characters before saving them? Or throw an error to prevent their being saved.

When I do that, I get a screen with a whole lot of data and a button at the bottom that says “remove this child instance of simple automation rule.” Is that the right way to remove the rule? It sounded like it would remove the entire App and therefore I was uncertain.

Each rule you create within the simple automation app is a child instance of that app.

It is supposed to limit them to 200. I'll have to look into it...
