.... started recently... is it just me? Most are working but of course yesterday when I opened the doors the request to change the setting failed to take as that particular call failed.
weird i have 3 therms in 2 houses and i do get about 5 or 6 errors like that a day but in general it is working and i have shorter polling times than you
ie
i do have my own custom version of the driver.. (not parent child)
here is mine if you want to try it
Thought more frequent polling was asking for trouble. Good to know you can do more often if needed.
I'm using the UK version which uses a different app (not maintained by anyone) but have started seeing more connection errors from the Honeywell server. I have 5 minute poll times. Occasionally I'm getting made aware by Honeywell that it failed to set a zone when commanded by the app.
same here i have 2 therms t6 pro wifi on that app and actually getting more errors there now than the older api.. honeywell sucks.
Seeing the same. I created RM rules that monitor TCCstatus and if the command fails, the rule waits 10 minutes and tries again.
My requirements only require a 60 minute polling interval but I am still seeing the increased failure rate. I also had to lower my cookie count to 5 to even get the driver to function. Honeywell is definitely screwing with things but it's not affecting everyone equally.
I will sometimes see a whole group of fails, then it goes for a while, then another group. There isn't a pattern to the success vs fail time, it isn't like I am polling too often. It seems to straighten itself out eventually.
I even have errors logging in on the TCC Android app at times, but if I click back and log in again it works.
With that information, I assume this is server side issues, but I doubt Honeywell Residio takes it seriously from a single user, and especially from someone who is probably technically going against the TOS.
So I have learned to ignore the errors, unless someone has a suggestion on how to get Residio to fix things.
Maybe time to change thermostats. T6 still a good option or is there a better one?
I've also seen similar, however I rarely seem to see login errors in the HomeBridge plugin I use (TCC is EvoHome in the UK). Using today as an example there have been more than a hundred connection errors in my Hubitat app but not a single one in Homebridge. I use Hubitat purely for automations (altering temps when we leave/return, cancelling overrides automatically, a pseudo window mode) whereas Homebridge is used for switching modes and altering temps from the phone. I wonder how the Homebridge plugin manages connection differently that doesn't cause timeouts.
I usually check https://status.resideo.com for outages if I'm seeing persistent errors.
