Perhaps not hubitat specific, but hoping the community might offer some insight.
I have two T6 stats, purchased this year. A few weeks ago, we noticed that one will not turn on the airhandler when hub (programmed modes) asks it to.
The thermostat does show the correct temp to be called for, but no heat. Switching it to fan on, and the heat works.
Any ideas on whats breaking down?
TIA
How old is your HVAC controller (not the thermostat)?
When I first installed my Ecobee thermostat on an older HVAC unit, I found that my existing thermostat did not have a "C" or common wire to provide power to the thermostat. The thermostat it replaced was programable, but not a smart thermostat. It was powered by batteries. Ecobee supplied an adapter that allowed powering the switch, but that meant I could not control the fan separately. The fan only worked on "auto". When the heat or cooling started the fan started.
Since it appears your heating and cooling only work in "fan" mode, I suspect the fan control wire is connected to the wrong terminal.
By the way, when I replaced my HVAC unit, the technician reconnected the existing Ecobeee thermostat, but he wired it incorrectly and there was no power. I had to show the technician how to rewire the the Ecobee to get it working properly. The new HVAC unit used had a "C" wire available, so my new system working in either "Fan" or "Auto" modes.
Thanks for the insight.
Turns out I had to jump into the programming and I believe program option 230 had equipment controls fan. Changed to thermostat controls fan and we're good to go.
