Already completely reset the Hubitat and completely started over. But my phone or iPad both won’t add the Hubitat to my home in the home app. I’ve scanned the QR code over and over and it circles forever then eventually fails. I’ve also went into the home settings in the home app and switched to a different hub but still fails. Please help! Hubitat has been working great for over a year up until now!
I do believe that's the origin of the QR code he's referring to.
I’m at work at the moment. But that’s correct. When I open the HomeKit integration it gives me a QR code and a setup number.
Was the Apple integration also working or is this something new you are trying to setup?
Are your Hubitat, Apple "Hubs" (ATV or Homepods), and mobile all on the same LAN? Or is anything segregated with VLANs or guest networks? Homekit heavily uses mDNS which does not traverse VLANS without a reflector setup.
All on the same network. I retried 5g and 2g on my phone and iPad. The Hubitat is connected to the router with Ethernet
Do you have any Apple TVs or HomePods on your network that are acting as your Apple Home “Hub”?
Are you able to access and control Apple Home devices when you are not connected to your home network? A device act g as an Apple Home Hub is required to do that, so it is a simple way of testing if your Apple Home Hub is functioning properly.
Are all of your Apple devices fully updated to iOS, iPadOS, HomePodOS, and tvOS 18.5?
Have you tried rebooting all of your Apple Devices? Sometimes Apple Home/HomeKit just needs a power cycle of all devices to get things sorted out.
My little experience has proven this to be true.
Still no luck. I’ve restarted everything.
Also, the home hub is working as expected. I can toggle lights and such while I’m away from home as expected.
What networking gear do you have?
What is the IP of your hub, and IP of your mobile?
It’s a spectrum router. We’ve had it 2-3 years now. But I’ve tried COMPLETELY disabling the routers firewall and security and it still won’t connect. I’m trying another router now
Well. Issue solved. It was the spectrum router. Maybe it got a firmware update or something recently. But I switched to a different router I had laying around and that did it. So I guess I’ll be looking to upgrade and get rid of the spectrum router since we can’t use it
Once it is paired you could try swapping it back in and see if it will keep working.
Honestly though, those routers are junk, you are better off getting your own anyway, even if its a cheaper one. You can get a decent one for less than $150 on amazon if you check the "Warehouse" deals (returned open box).
