HomeKit integration setting dimmer to 100% not working

I have just moved my dimmers from Homebridge to the HomeKit integration and now I am unable to set dimmers to 100% from HomeKit.

Asking Siri to set a dimmer to 100% will do so in the Home App but no command is seen in the Hubitat logs and nothing happens.

This use case works for me when using Homebridge.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Just tried on mine...

"Siri set Lounge lights 100%" - The lights turn on at their previous level (which was 1%). The notification on screen says that they're at 100 even though they're not.

While the lights are already on, commanding Siri to set any level gives the same result. The Home notification says they're at the level requested but nothing changes and the lights remain at 1%.

There are ongoing (for a long time...) issues with Homekit integration and dimmers. Turning on a dimmer from the Home app shows 100% on the tile but is actually at the last level set.

@johnwill1 This is EXACTLY what has been happening for the last few months. I thought I was going mad. Turns out, HomeKit has been gaslighting me!

@Jensie At least now I have a data point to "fix" my issue - by moving those dimmers to HomeBridge. Thanks!

Moved over one dimmer from HomeKit to Homebridge and tested out the command to set the lights to 100%. IT WORKED! Now to do the same for the rest.

@gopher.ny Since dimming works via Homebridge, but does not in the Hubitat HomeKit integration, is there something that can be fixed or improved in the HomeKit app?

Checking that...

I am glad to hear you had success with that.
This has been an absolute nightmare for me.
For me every single device that I removed from the Homekit integration never shows up in the Home App after adding it back to the homebridge integration. I have no idea why :frowning:
The homebridge logs show the devices as added :man_shrugging:

TL;DR version: I’d say: GIVE IT A REST TODAY. Don’t try moving anything as the issue has been fixed and something between the firmware version, Home version, HomeKit app, and HomeBridge, nearly killed me today.

Long version: It wasn’t THAT successful. When moving devices over today, something went wrong. Horribly wrong. HomeKit hub disappeared from home and I helplessly watched 120+ painstakingly configured and renamed devices slowly disappear from Home. I should have stopped at the first time an error popped up that the setting (for a device) couldn’t be saved in Home. But no, I continued to idiotically make changes and broke everything.

I had to re-pair HomeKit and most importantly, was lucky to restore a home/homekit backup from 4 days ago. Controller for HomeKit saved me. I was trialing it for a month, and now even though I am not able to use it for what I wanted, it’s well worth the $6 a year JUST for the backup feature. I consider it heart-attack and stroke insurance.

I’m still fixing icons and the “new” devices added since that backup. It’s been hours. I can’t imagine what I’d do without a backup as a baseline to start from.

I feel you. Have already went nuclear and removed Homebridge from the Home App :frowning: . Lots of room assignments in my future. Perhaps this is an opportunity for me to rename the devices in Hubitat so I don't have to do it in the app again :).
Oddly enough, when adding the Homebridge accessory back in the Home App all the devices that were already added to the homebridge integration appear, but any new ones I add still never show.

You mention the issue has been fixed. Is there another post somewhere I missed in my search?

Yes. That post is in an area of the Hubitat community that can only be accessed by beta testers.

The issue has been fixed in a version of the Hubitat platform that has not yet been publicly released.

Yeah, sorry it's in a testing section. Based on your thread, we are discussing and testing fixes. So, rest assured, it is actively being worked on.

[C7 2.4.1.176] TLDR: Siri will turn the group on and off but is not setting the level correctly.

I am having a similar experience. I have a "Living Room Group" that includes "Recliner Lamp" and "Couch Lamp". I can tell Siri to set the level of either device individually and that works fine. However, I can tell Siri to set the group to a level, and HomeKit says it is set but it doesn't change the devices. When the group is off I can tell Siri to set the group to 50% and it will turn on but only at the previous level.
