I have 4 Yeelight LED bulbs, I downloaded the Yeelight Integration app within Hubitat, it recognized 3 of them. I tried using Homekit Integration app, but the Yeelight LED bulbs are showing as "incompatible devices". Is there something I can download to be able to integrate my Yeelight bulbs for Homekit?
Are these WiFi bulbs? If so, that is the reason. WiFi devices are not approved to be added by approved hubs. They might be able to be added directly to Homekit. I am not familiar with these bulbs.
WiFi/LAN devices cannot use the Homekit Integration app. This is a restriction put on by Apple as they expect these types of devices to connect directly (via Homekit or Matter). The only way I know to get around it is setting up Homebridge. You would go Hubitat to Homebridge to Homekit.
Or create group devices (group of 1 works as well) and share those.
Yes they are wifi bulbs, unfortunately only one of them is recognized by homekit, they were bought at different times so I think that is why some are recognized and some are not
That'd mean I'd need a raspberry pi or a device that is on constantly right?
Yes. I had a couple extra computers, made one good one out of them, installed Ubuntu (free, and wonโt randomly reboot to install updates), and have Homebridge running on that. Itโs a slippery slope though, because that led to me installing Home Assistant, Pi-Hole, an NTP server, Echo Speaks server, etc.
genius, this is so simple and works perfectly - thank you so much
