Homekit adding additional devices

Added some additional devices to the Homekit app yesterday but they still are not appearing on the Home app. Is there a step I'm missing? I tried the "Reload Devices" at the bottom but no help. I have closed and relaunched the app a few times on my iPhone. Running this on an Apple TV 4k box on the Apple side. Hubitat side is a C7 on 2.3.4.115. Also when I do restart the Home app the devices all show as Not Responding and it takes several minutes before they are good to go. Then they work fine.

Remove the Apple TV from the home and see if they respond

Get the latest firmware version, 2.3.4.117 at the time of writing.

Once update is completed, and new version up and running, go to Homekit integration app, scroll to the advanced section at the bottom, turn on "Relaxed home hub pairing security" and then "Restart integration". Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

Reviving this thread after a while here. After updating to 2.3.6 all my HomeKit devices previously added are working just fine, but anything new I try to add through the Hubitat app will not appear on the HomeKit app. Anyone else?

I just added a device with no problems.

Just added, clicked done, went into HomeKit and it showed up?

Yes

Look in your default room in Apple Home app.

+1. Since updating to the latest firmware last night, added devices do not appear in HomeKit (they do not show up when viewing all devices connected to hub). I tried adding my lock, but it never appeared. Removing a device in Hubitat properly removes it from HomeKit. Unfortunately now I can’t add it back.

@j_m

Update it did eventually populate but I’m unsure what did it.

  1. I updated my Apple TV

  2. I’m HomeKit after adding a device, I clicked the three dots and navigated to my default room where they popped up.

In the past, devices would auto populate on the Home Screen without going to a specific view. I plan to play a bit more tomorrow.

Hmm… Yeah, manually updating my Apple TV to tvOS 17.0 magically got things working again. :man_shrugging:

Strange that that’s what “fixes” it. It should still work with tvOS 16 - I was still able to add new devices to HomeKit with my Home Assistant instance, and they worked just fine. Only HE was having problems.

Anyway, I’m glad it’s working for us now. :upside_down_face:

Well, now that I’ve said that, it’s back to not updating again. The one device I had removed and re-added (that subsequently wasn’t showing up) appeared in HomeKit again after updating the Apple TV. Unfortunately, additional devices I try to add to HomeKit now are still not showing up. I’ve tried restarting the HK integration as well as restarting the Apple TV. Too bad I can’t re-upgrade to tvOS 17.

Ha, I may have found a workaround.

In the Apple TV, in Settings -> AirPlay and HomeKit, the Home Hub is displayed at the bottom. Toggling that to Disconnected and back to Connected again brought my new device into HomeKit.

I have no idea why this is required now. Seems like a bug is hiding somewhere.

Interesting, I’ll keep an eye out as I mess with it.

I'm having the same problem, adding additional devices don't show up in HK. The only way I was able to get it to work was removing HE HK integration and re-adding it.

It seemed to work fine on 2.3.5, but after upgrading to 2.3.6 is when the problems started for me.

@gopher.ny mind investigating this one? It seems something has definitely changed.

Same, I added the Hubitat Elevation bridge to Apple Homekit and the devices were found. But after I added more devices to Hubitst, they won't show in Homekit. I toggled on to enable Homekit, restarted the phone, computer, and Hubitat, plus restarted the integration in the Hubitat app. I tried scanning the QR code again but it says the bridge is already paired. How do I get additional devices from Hubitat into Homekit?
