Homekit active connection logs

Is there any kind of logs for the Homekit app on the device? I'm fighting with an issue where my Apple device drops its connection to my C8 at least daily, maybe more often. I'm unable to find any application logs for this HomeKit app. My only solution to the issue currently is to reboot the C8 when I notice the issue on my Apple devices. This isn't a sustainable solution moving forward.

My AppleTVs all have static IP address along with the C8. All on the same network and VLAN. All devices are on the latest firmware as of yesterday.

Every time I notice it I can go into the HomeKit app on the C8 and at the bottom it will show Active connections: none

If I had a way to detect that the connection was dropped I could at least trigger a reboot on the C8. Not the ideal solution, but without logs I'm unable to see what is going on.

Do you have any options on the Device Details page in HE to turn on additional logging for the devices involved?

I have 30+ devices attached to this HomeKit integration. There is no HomeKit "hub device" in my list that I'm aware of which is what I would expect to have the logs for the failure on the integration.

I'm not sure what the acronym HE stands for so that also might be an issue with answering your question. I don't frequent this forum as much as maybe I should.

Ah, no worries....

By HE I meant Hubitat Elevation, the "marketing" name for the hubitat hub, so just thing of it as "your Hubitat hub".

By the device type I was referring to (mostly) the driver(s) being used on your Hubitat hub for the devices involved. So if you identify a couple of devices involved in your Homekit integration, then navigate to the Devices page on your Hubitat hub, clicking on one of the devices, then scroll to the Device Information section and report back here the "Type" shown.

All that said, the fact you have 30+ devices with the issue, I could be on the wrong track here... But at least you might be learning a few new terms along the way...

Yeah this isn't a one device issue. In my original post you can see the screen shot there where it shows Active connections: none. That is at the bottom of the HomeKit integration page. That should show the IP address of the Apple hub device that is connected to the Hubitat hub. What I want is to see the logs for the HomeKit integration itself, and not each device that is enabled in that integration.

Sorry for the late reply....

Is there not an option to turn on logging for the app? (I don't use it myself, I am an Android myslef  )

Nope! Been asking for that for awhile.

Perhaps not one to "like", but thanks for rdsponding.... hopefully a logging option will get added...

You might want to try the solution above of setting up a virtual switch that just toggles every hour or so to keep the connection alive: Done with Hubitat Homekit for now - #10 by TArman

Works for me.

I would really like to get to the bottom of the issue and find a proper solution. After reading that other thread the virtual switch suggestion is just a way you’ve found that keeps the connection alive. The Hub itself should do that without the end user having to make switches turn off and on randomly. This HomeKit app is not third party. There for hubitat should be providing support for it. Give us the logs Hubitat or find a solution for us.

Please and please.
