Home Kit Support

Does Habitat have integration for home kit? I thought I heard at one point it was in beta and was waiting for it to be certified. Anyone able to confirm this before I order my first hub and get started in their eco system.

Yes, Hubitat has a built-in HomeKit integration that allows Hubitat devices to be used in Apple Home.

I don't know if you've found the documentation for the Homekit Integration, but it's here:

In case it's not obvious (and why would it be for a new user?) you can click the Documentation word in the top banner and then just search for a key word or two. Hubitat is very flexible and comes out of the box pretty bland. You are expected to know how to customize you hub to fit your needs. But that's knowledge none of us found easy to intuit. Everyone here encourages you to ask questions as soon as you discover something isn't obvious.

Adding to the above, these are two separate issues: the integration is out of beta, but it is not Apple-certified. (I believe they are still working on that, though it may be a different integration with more restrictions, as Apple is picky about what they allow through certification.)

My memory is: that there will be two Integrations, what we have now PLUS the certified one. You'd be able to pick the one you want when "Add Apps" is clicked.

Is it still the case that the Official HomeKit plugin does not support LAN/Wifi/Hub-connected devices nor zwave locks? I've been trying to eliminate Homebridge from the moment I bought my Hubitat C-7. I have Konnected Alarm devices, zWave locks and Bond Hub-controlled fans all working well through Homebridge/Hubitat plugin. Having to monitor and maintain the homebridge server is tedious. Do you have any insight about when the Hubitat non-certified plugin will be available?

As far as I can tell, the current HomeKit Integration supports LAN/WiFi/Hub-connected devices including Locks, and can replace Homebridge.

I have the Integration added on all 4 of my hubs and only Matter devices are "incompatible" -- which is correct because they are already directly provisioned by Apple Home.

Gosh I hope you're right cuz then I'll be saying adios to Homebridge today! Let me go give it a try. Thanks.

Thanks so much! About 6 hours of work later and I have completely eliminated Homebridge. The Hubitat product truly has become incredibly useful as a central integration platform. The Bond App is a bit wonky when it comes to dimmers vs basic on-off lights in my ceiling fans, but I got it sorted out. It really does help to browse these forums to keep up with the latest.
