I’m not sure what trigger to use for this rule. I want a few lights to come one at sunrise if no one is home. I had no problem doing this with the old version but now can’t get it to function. Attached is a picture of the rule. Please help.
Just change your trigger to
Certain Time
then pick
Sunrise
If you want them to then turn off you can follow the on with a delay/wait and then turn off.
On: your lights
Off lights. delay 2 hrs.
I tried certain time of sunrise and it also didn’t work??
If you set edit/define a rule between 00:10 and Sunrise it will not fire the first day as it doesn't actually know when sunrise is.
It calculates it at 00:10 (I believe).
If it's before 00:10 where you are now, change the rule to how I have suggested and then go into the settings cog for the rule and scroll to the bottom. Hopefully you will see a scheduled job for 00:10.
That's probably me getting it wrong.
Sorry................
Do you have any event subscriptions for sunrise?

I would think that would trigger OK then.
Ok, I’ll try it again tomorrow morning. Thank you!
Don't you need to identify presence as the other trigger . . . ?
I would suggest not.
My reasoning is at Sunrise it will trigger.
It will then check the conditions.
i.e. sunset and presence.
If anything it doesn't need the sunrise condition defined as it is sunrise when the rule triggers.
If it is everyone why not trigger on Sunrise and then just check for Away Mode? Since the only trigger is Sunrise you do not have to add it to the if statement, the only way the rule fires if it is Sunrise. So at that point check for Away Mode if true turn on lights.
That sounds like a good idea. I will try that.
