Hello I currently had a z wave device physically die on me,it just stopped working meaning it wouldnt turn on or off or anything. I have hubitat c8 on platform 2.4.3.176 and because the zwave device isn't working I couldn't exclude it from the z wave network properly. So i went to settings , zwave details and found the device did a refresh then a remove, however that didnt remove it.
Then i went to devices on left menu and found the zwave device and did a foce remove. That removed the device from the devices list , however if i go to settings , zwave details the device is still in the list but without a device name. How do i go about removing the device so i dont have any ghost devices? Please and thank you . The picture is a SC after i did the force removel within the devices tab. If i view device graph i do not see the device in the graph.
Remove power from the bad z-wave device first. Then you have to keep hitting refresh until remove shows up.
That's exactly what I did. Within zwave details i clicked refresh, until I seen remove.I then tried to remove it , which it would not remove it . So I went to "devices" , found the device within the device list and forced removed it. However , the device is still within the z wave of details page but now without a name

He’s written a nice how to. You need a zwave stick and have to follow directions.
ZWJS is pretty good at removing ghosts natively but I do believe you need to have a C8 Pro to run it. Maybe you could get by for a small amount of time, but you’d have to know endpoints in all likelihood.
If you had cloud backup could you restore and then try again? I’ve never read it being done.
You might try power your hub. Power it back up wait 10-15 minutes for thing to settle down and try the refresh and remove again. The bad z-wave device MUST not have power or this will not work.
The other option is a z-wave stick and remove it that way. Search z-wave stick and ghost removal.
Upgrade to a C8pro and JS will remove it.
When i go to settings zwave details then the zwave device it now only has refresh and discover nothing else. Before i had remove but i believe once I went to devices on the left menu and forced deleted the device im no longer seeing remkve in the zwave details.
You have to keep pressing refresh until remove shows up. Remove will NOT show up if the bad z-wave device still has power.
