I've been an avid SmartThings user since 2015/16. I honestly love the platform, and have no real complaints to speak of.
However, earlier this winter I installed LG Mini Split heat pumps in my new house, which have built in WiFi for Smart ThinQ integration. I had hope in the beginning of integrating these with SmartThings. I don't know why it never occurred to me that with LG and Samsung having competing smart home platforms, the odds of integration were slim.
I've found nothing to integrate with ST. I was holding out hope for a bridge using IFTTT, but from what I can tell LG hasn't added their HVAC products to that platform. The only lead I've found so far is someone breaking down LG's API and using it with HASS. I haven't used that platform in many years, and I think my usage of my home has evolved away from what they're offering.
So... Has anyone come across a way to use LG HVAC products with Hubitat? Whether direct integration or bridged, I'm up for anything. This alone would be enough to make me open my wallet for a new hub. My only real way of controlling these right now is through Google Home, but there's a terrible lag when issuing commands, while Google talks to LG, then LG to my units.
I have not seen anything on Hubitat adding ThinQ integration. I'm considering getting a LG smart ThinQ dryer so I may be playing with it soon. I did however also heard recently LG is integrating with Google Home this month (if not already) so that's a step in the right direction.
However don't see any API being released for open Home Automation by LG so it's still a hard road ahead.
Only thing I saw was someone got bits and pieces working for HAAS?
IFTTT and LG has so many issues from what I've seen so not looking promising that way
So sad LG doesn't step up to be the first big "Brand" to open up an API to help integrate it into true home automation systems.
I got it working with iPhone but using Hubitat app built in notification. I am running the beta app so I am not sure if it work the with existing app but here how I did this. I am doing this from my memory and I may missed a step or two.
Thanks to @dadarkgtprince for helping me get started on this.
Set up Virtual switches for both Washer complete and Dryer complete and set it to auto turn off at 2 seconds.
Added Hubitat to your ITFFF account and authorized both Washer and Dryer virtual switches on it.
Added LG Smart ThinQ to your ITFFF account (Need to be registered on Smart ThinQ before doing this part if you haven't already)
Create different 2 tasks under ITFFF account- Smart ThinQ report complete Washer to turn on Washer virtual switch and Smart ThinQ report complete Dryer to turn on Driver virtual switch
In Hubitat, set up notification app to notify you when washer or dryer virtual switch is turn on. (completed) .
This setup seems to be working for me and I no longer need to have Smart ThinQ app on my iPhone.
