HE not discovering GE Switch

Added my first GE 14292 Switch and my hub isn't detecting the switch. I've tried the 3 quick up and 3 quick down to reset the switch to no avail.

Not sure what to do next.

Just click down 3 times. Not Up-down x3. I have 20+ of these switches. It took 19 to learn that trick. If that doesn’t work, out HE in exclusion mode, click 3 times down. Then repeat the inclusion process

Still not discovering it. Not sure what to do here.

I've found the inclusion mode to only require a single down or up press with this model, I have two of them.

Were these previously paired with another hub? If so you may need to exclude them there before trying to include them in HE.

No, I just purchased them from Lowes this afternoon and installed this first one.

You should try excluding it first. Doesn’t matter if it’s new, these sometimes come from the factory in a paired state. Put the hub into device exclusion and press up or down on the paddle. You may have to do that a couple times, at 5 second intervals.

Then when you try again, press the paddle every 10 seconds, for up to a minute. If the switch still isn’t recognized, reboot the hub and try again.

Try just pressing down a single press after putting HE into discovery mode see if that works. Also, how far is the switch from the nearest z-wave repeater (powered z-wave device)?

I've done the following:
put the hub in exclusion and pressed up once
Clicked on Discover Device button and pressed up once

put the hub in exclusion and pressed down once
Put the hub in discover and pressed down once

Rebooted the hub

put the hub in exclusion mode and pressed down every 5 sec
put the hub in inclusion and pressed up every 10 seconds

Reset the Z wave stick and did all the above again.

This is my first Z wave device and it's 23' from the HE with no real obstructions between them meaning i can stand at the switch and see the hub.

Try this

FINALLY!!! Rebooted the hub, when through the exclusion process with a single down press and the inclusion with a single extend (not long) press up and it worked.

I had the same issues with both the Honeywell and GE wall switches from Jasco. I tried to follow the instructions, but could not get it to work. I tried to do the discover sequence and the exclude sequence. Nothing. I could not force the factory reset like the instructions directed, and I ended up calling Technical Support. Big Shout out to Jasco, as they have the phones maned with people who seem to be doing more than just reading web pages base help screens. He told me that I needed to do the factory reset "very fast". Its 3 up-pushes immediately followed by 3 down-pushes. Thats what the instructions say, but I did not figure that "quickly" meant as fast I possibly could. I used both thumbs, 3 up, 3 down, in something like 2 seconds. Reset work great. I also needed to reboot my hub, but once I did, I was able to pair with 3 of these devices. The other thing that may be obvious to others, but I only got it to work with 3 down-presses, like recommended above, but i had to do them quickly in succession. That same procedure worked first-time, every time with the 2nd and 3rd switch. As noted by others, the Honeywell ones seem to sell at about a $5 discount, so I will buy more of them.

I just followed the instructions to exclude, do one down, then include and one down and it showed up. I noticed someone was using a driver for specific GE 14291 in another thread. Use Generic or the some specific driver??

Unless you need a specific feature in the user driver, use the in-box/generic one.
