tried the recommanded Tuya Scene Switch TS004F but it doesn;t work.
I tried the General Zigbee switch and this works, but it controls all 4 buttons together and doesn't create child switches.

Did you try Generic Zigbee Multi-Endpoint Switch?

The Tuya Scene Switch TS004F driver is for battery-powered buttons and scene switches.

For mains-powered Tuya switches, use the [RE-RELEASE] Zemismart ZigBee Wall Switch Multi-Gang driver.

After manually assigning this driver to your device, obligatory pairt it once again to your hub (without deleting it).

This caused 4 children to be generated, but turning on/off for each - turns all of the lights together.
