Has anyone been able to integrate ESL (ePaper / eInk) price tag displays?

I've seen a post on Facebook where someone has used Home Assistant to update the small price tag displays you see in shops but with their own data. In their case they had a feed from their Council with bin collection days and they published it on their screens.

They were kind enough to share some resources which included instructions to get it working with HomeAssistant:

I'm probably out of my depth but I figured this has to be able to be integrated with Hubitat if HA is able to do it.

Here is a link to one of the devices I'm looking at:

I'm told the ones pictured are Solum ST-29000.

Is anyone able to help me please?

Many thanks in advance.

If you spin up a Home Assistant instance and add the display to Home Assistant, you can then bring the device to Hubitat using HADB. That’s how I bring devices to Hubitat when there is no Hubitat driver.

Did anyone ever try getting these working in Hubitat?

The devices use BLE to communicate, so going through HA to hubitat would be the easiest way to get them to work with hubitat. Considering hubitat doesn’t support bluetooth you’d will need some middle man and Home Assistant is as good as any and there are several different ways to get HA devices in hubitat and hubitat devices in HA.
