These work great with HE and have a stock driver too. Just remember you need a Zigbee repeater close by.

Does that also have the control module, or is it only a remote?

Thanks for this post. I literally just checked on these yesterday, and talked myself out of purchasing until fall.

Now I couldn't pass up this price! I got 3 Pretty much bought 2 got 1 free

Thanks for the heads up! Ordered 5.

Just grabbed another one for the living room. Have one in my bedroom but it disconnects occasionally and needs to be re-added, even with a Peanut plug.

I think I'm going to order another zigbee plug to strengthen the mesh even more. Any suggestions? Something with power monitoring on the cheap would be good :grimacing:

Canopy module and a remote. If you have a Lutron Pro hub you don’t need the remote and can use Picos instead.

If only it was the wall mount version https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-Universal-Ceiling-Fan-Wireless-Wall-Switch-68109/205846346

My remotes always disappear

The "Universal Ceiling Fan Wireless Wall Switch" you linked to operates on the same RF frequency as the Hampton Bay Fan Controller canopy module. I bought both for one of my fans and essentially threw away the canopy module that came with the "Universal Ceiling Fan Wireless Wall Switch". It works well enough but it's a cheaply made/very cheap looking POS.

I did all this before the official HE Hampton Bay controller integration. And were I to do it again now I'd skip the wall switch and I'd write some rules to use a Fan control Pico to control the HB Fan Controller.

You don't have to use a fan control pico. You can use any pico (or button controller) you want to control through HE. Personally, I like have the RF as a backup, especially if you don't have a strong Zigbee mesh.

That's another note...make sure you have a repeater in the same room as the fan and if it drops from your network (won't respond to commands) move the repeater from one side of the room to the other. My HB fans use repeaters that are actually further away from the hub that they are because they are on the same side as the receiver in the cowl of the fan. it isn't very powerful and doesn't like transmitting around the fan motor. But a repeater is ABSOLUTELY required to get this device to work well. So much so that they really should sell it with one.

True, but I like the fan Pico fan engraving

Yeah but you can only see it if you're a foot away from the thing...and for twice the price, is it really worth it?

Damn, that was truly just a ONE DAY deal, ordered 3 yesterday was going to get one more today, no bueno, they're back to full price.

If I didn’t already have 5 of them in the house I would have taken that deal too!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the wall remote for these things is hideous garbage.

I did order 2 more of these, but I think I'm going the Pico route for wall controls this time. I have that Hampton Bay wall remote in my bedroom, and it pisses me off every time my eyes land on it. It's GRAY! supposed to be white, but the only white plate that fits/matches it is the one it came with, which is a dull, tiny, dingy gray thing with visible screws. Ugh.
I put a Lutron screwless plate on it to match the rest of the house, and the gray switch sitting back in that white hole looks like crap.

Does anyone know if perhaps there's another brand of wall remote that can be made to work with these, other than the Pico? I like picos, but I prefer having an actual intuitive fan and light control.

I REALLY like the look of this Hunter one (minus the tiny exposed screw plate, of course). I wonder if there's any chance it could be paired with this fan controller? Probably not...

They are currently $37
