Halo / Halo+ Smoke and CO detectors

Has anyone gotten the Halo/Halo+ alarms to work with HE?

I have them currently paired and running under ST, but have not found a driver for them in HE ... dont want to unpair them to see if I can get them to work so checking to see if anyone else has had luck

If not, and the fine folks at team HE are able to ... here's some of the info from ST's WebGUI (If there is more info needed let me know):

Bumping this. Halo just confirmed they’re out of business (after weeks or months of radio silence) so it will no longer be possible to use it in WiFi mode and connect directly to their cloud.

I actually setup my Halo detector that way rather than connect it to ST as a zigbee device.

I like having redundancies when it comes to fire safety, so I figured even if the ST cloud is down I can still get remote alerts from my halo detector that way.

But can Halo connect to HE as a zigbee smoke or CO detector?

It should pair as a device, but we dont have any zigbee smoke detector drivers currently.

Thanks.

Guess I’ll pair it to ST for now.

Hopefully that’s something you guys can release at some point.

That's going to be tough with them out of buisness, unless someone wants to loan me one.

Here to bump this... I haven't taken the plunge to buy a hub yet, but now Halo going out of business is forcing my hand. I would rather go for something with local processing if it supported the Halo smoke alarms.

Can you loan your device to Mike? I’m trying to figure out if I have a spare (dumb) wired detector lying around somewhere that I could temporarily wire into place before I could commit to loaning out mine.

I can loan Mike one if still needed. I've got six of them, and really need to see these supported.

Yup, no ones sent me one yet!

OK, I can send you a Halo +, a Halo, or both if needed. Email me the address. (btbauma@gmail.com)

What's the difference between the two?, from what i saw above they seem to support the same functions.

The Halo + has a weather radio. Once you configure it to the correct frequency you can configure it to alert on a laundry list of emergency situations.

Thanks for volunteering, @btbauma!

No spare detectors here and I haven’t had a chance to run out and get one.

Mike, what mailing address should I send the Halo+ to?

Dohhh, knew there was something I forgot this morning...

I am here to help as well.. have 4 of them - trying to find one more. Can send one if needed too. Let me know if there is anything I can do - also happy to test.

I also was eaisly able to pair one of the halos - added it as a generic zigbee sensor and based on what generic zigbee driver I give it, it will give me info.. example.. zigbee switch - State Variables

  • tempOffset : 0
  • sensorTemp : 72.38

or zigbee mositer sensor:

Current States

  • battery : 100
  • temperature : 72.38

State Variables

  • tempOffset : 0
  • sensorTemp : 72.38

so at least its talking

I just shipped a Halo + to Mike.
