Had to power cycle C8 2nd time today. :(

For the 2nd time today (when I woke up and when I came home this afternoon) I had to power cycle my C8 due to complete unresponsive zwave devices. I tried restarting them both times which didn't work, which then forced me to pull the power and disconnect the ethernet cable. When I power it back up all's good... for now. I even updated the hub to the latest 2.4.2.157 ver. Same result untill it's power cycled.

Does this mean my zwave radio is on it's way out?

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm in Canada and zwave region is set to US-LR -908.4Mhz,916 Mhz

I bet it's a bad device.

Also, should do a controlled shutdown from Settings, pull power plug for 30 seconds after it tells you it's safe to do so, and then plug back in.

Also, when you say "restart", what do you mean? Reboot?

You're using the original power supply, not POE?

Sorry yes, I did do a controlled shutdown and pulled power. Also yes about having original power supply. And also yes to reboot, not restart.

That would suck as it's only two and a half years old.

I meant some sensor or other not the hub. It doesn't take much to choke up the mesh.

I could be wrong but I find it hard to believe that a device could literally stop the rest of them (150+) from responding in any way with the hub.

Au contraire.

Check out above topic and come back and tell us if you see ghosts in your Z-Wave device list.

You'd be shocked how much a few ghosts (or misbehaving devices) can affect a Z-Wave mesh. They can rip it to shreds... Also check battery powered Z-Wave FLIRS devices like thermostats to make sure they have good batteries, one bad thermostat stopped my entire Z-Wave network a couple years ago.

You’d think there’d be a comprehensive troubleshooting guide somewhere, but I don’t think there is.

I still laugh at the term ghosts... Sorry, not helping...
