Had something similar happen when I added a new hub. I tried everything and was afraid to pull power and restart. I finally did and boom back was my hub. Hope this helps you. I'm the one that normally needs help.
Make sure your device is connected to the the same network segment (i.e. same subnet) as the hub.
Reboot your router.
Power cycle your hub by shutting it down from Settings. Then, when the LED on the hub turns red, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet for 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
If BobbyD's suggestions don't get you up and running try looking at the router's DHCP clients table and see if you can find the hub there... jot down its IP address (and while you're there create a reservation for it) and then try pinging and then navigating to the address.
Could you please try resetting the networking settings on the hub by turning the hub over and using the point of a pen, press the small button just beneath the surface of the hub casing for at least 10 seconds. See if that helps.
what kind of router .. i ask because you can usually get a list of connected devices with ip and mac address. you can just look for the mac on the hub and find the ip it is using in your router ...
I tried that ( assumed you meant while it was plugged into power and ethernet/google wifi puck.)
No change in light. Light stayed green throughout reset button push.
Next steps? Before you said to make sure my computer and Hub were on the same "network segment" Doe that mean that on my three puck Google WiFi system, I should unplug the other two pucks in the mesh system to force the laptop to connect there?
