Just posting this in case anyone else is interested in how I am able to capture temps from this device. I got it on Amazon for $25 so it was too good to pass up.

I was hoping it would be supported with one of the current Govee apps on HPM but it doesn't appear to be supported by Govee's developer API.

Instead I wrote (with a major assist from Claude) a custom driver which logs into govee to fetch temp data from this device.

Install:

  • search for govee pool in HPM
  • add new device -> virtual device -> Govee Pool

Login:

  • find the new device in devices list
  • enter govee email / password and hit Save
  • click on Login
  • you should get a code from Govee. Enter it into the submit login code field and hit Run button

You may want to take another look at the Govee Developer API. Govee recently added some bluetooth devices with Gateways like this to it. I got some bluetooth Water Leak sensors that work with the Developer API through that gateway device.

Otherwise that is some good reverse engineering. That is using the same API that the Govee Home app uses to log in and do things.
