Google Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen Not Updating

Earlier this month I linked my thermostat with HE using matter and google home to create a pairing code. All seemed to work well for a while but now I notice the thermostat is not sending updates to HE or HE is not retrieving them (Not sure which is expected to happen). I have to use the refresh command to update HE with the current thermostat values.
I have a C8 running the latest platform.
Any ideas as to why the updates are not coming?

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you but I hope you are running your Nest thermostat with a C wire.

I had 2 techs tell me it was the Nest thermostat. Essentially running them without a C wire, while fully supported by Nest, is not good for any HVAC equipment. I have a Nest 3rd Gen thermostat in my house…. it does not support matter. Are you sure you didn’t mean 4th Gen?

I have to use the Google SDM API to get my thermostat into Hubitat on my 3rd gen.
