Total noob here, trying to plan a smart home system. I have some basic technical background but am also very time poor. After quite a bit of research (initially thinking Smartthings might be for me) but due to reviews and reading these forums, now thinking Hubitat is going to be the right solution for my house.
However, I am struggling to find a native Hubitat interactive out of the box UI. This is something that is quite appealing to me - like a Google Nest Hub or Echo Show. ie that sits on your kitchen bench or bedside table and has a semi decent speaker (I expect to have Sonos or something similar in most rooms as well), can control your Hubitat with clicks or voice and potentially also delivers up visuals/audio on questions you might have for Google/Alexa.
I understand the limitations from reading posts here on controlling Google/Alexa from Hubitat.
So my question is, are there any similarly functional products out there that readily interact both ways with Hubitat?
The Google hubs handle some of what you describe. One limitation is which devices they support. The other is that it requires a cloud connection. I am lucky to have pretty good (reliable) internet service but that can be an issue depending on where you are. The Google hub puts together dashboards for rooms. I see them but rarely use them - they pop up from time to time. I frequently use voice commands with Google for things that are exceptions to my automations - that works pretty well. I also have Sonos - I use both for announcements mostly depending on which is in the room. The Google speakers are not bad. I'm still kind of pissed at Sonos for deprecating so many of the expensive devices I bought. I'll keep running it as long as I can but I doubt I will ever buy another product from them.
You might want to try one of them (Google hub, I meant).
In answer to your question - I don't know of any other options. Hopefully others will have some ideas for you.
