GoControl garage opener never completes bootstrap

I am moving all of my devices over to my new Hubitat, and everything's been fine until now.

I have 3 GoControl devices, and they all worked fine on the old hub. Two of them still do.

On the third, after various resets, exclusions, power cycles, etc.

I exclude, which works (I've also done a full reset to no avail).

Then include. The device beeps three times, Hubitat informs me that the bootstrap / initialize is underway, and then I get the "it looks like you're having trouble" message.

I can see it in the ZWave details page with no neighbors. I've tried repairing it from that page with no luck.

Help?

Have you tried moving it close to the hub and see if that helps? Once paired you should be able to move it back.

I uninstalled it from the garage and brought it right next to the hub. Still no dice.

Now I will try:

  1. Factory Reset.
  2. Unplug.
  3. Remove the zombie device using zwave tools.
  4. Restart the hub.
  5. Add/Remove some other device, just to be sure things generally work.
  6. Wait a while.
  7. Try again to add the GoControl.

Are you trying to include without security? Being specifically for a garage door, they may require that you use security to include, similar to many locks that refuse to pair without security enabled.

If the device has a Smart Start QR code I highly recommend using that. Just unplug the device, scan the code into the Hubitat app, then plug the device in. It should pair itself within a few minutes.

That was, in fact, the problem. I left the mounting plate in the garage when I brought it inside, and thus wasn't able to find the security code until it occurred to me that it must be printed on the plate.

My other two are an earlier model that don't require security, so that was a bit of confusion on my part.

Put the code in and voila.

Thanks for the help!
