GitHub Pages Theme for System Documentation

3/23: New color scheme, new name, new repo: Lakeside Blues for GitHub Pages by TR-Systems, and all new Get Started today page.

3/17 Final Updates: Scrolling content with fixed header/footer, fixed toc button, new site menu button and new optional print button.

Update March 1st: Just added! A groovy new drop-down link button for table of contents or other external links, in a new two-column grid designed for that purpose.

So what is an old retired IT guy supposed to do with his copious amount of free time while in the not so deep freeze of winter? How about develop a website for publishing the User Guide I needed for my Hikvision Camera Controller, which I released on the 1st of Feb.

The driver page contains a link to the User Guide by formatting the title of a "hidden" input field with some html. This method was provided to me by jtp10181 and was just what I needed since driver pages have no other means to provide a help page of any kind (let alone one as fancy as mine).

Go to the bottom of this post if interested in the code to do that.

But I was not satisfied with the default GitHub Pages layout or the supported themes out there, so I then spent all of this month to come up with my own. And I'm not done yet. But it's out there for the taking if anyone is interested.

Because as I was developing that device driver in an "all new to me" environment and programming language, all I found myself saying was...

Oh where oh where has all the good doc gone?

Come on people, get with the doc and gimme somethin' good!
