I completely went down the rabbit hole on this one.
I installed a Zooz double switch . . . the top worked fine after inclusion, but the bottom didn't, so I attempted to exclude and re-include. I now have 3 ghosts of the switch. While researching, I found Zooz had a new driver for the switch. Doesn't help me right now since I have ghosts.
After getting the ghosts I now have 27 devices that report they need "Rebuild Route" (button). When you run rebuild route each device fails.
Since I couldn't get the ghosts to remove and now, I have the rebuild route devices I attempted to add a USB z-stick, so I could get rid of the ghosts and hopefully would make the rest of the devices happy again.
Not that easy ... the USB z-stick didn't completely get added to Hubitat. It almost acts like a ghost, and it wants to have its route rebuild. Of course, Z-wave PC controller won't add all the devices, so I can remove the ghosts.
If so, did you see this note after step 12? There may not be an issue with the pairing of the Z stick. I recall when I did this, it looked like a ghost also. But it worked regardless.
The fact that a button is there doesn't mean you need to click it. "Rebuild Route" runs a per-node Z-Wave Repair operation on the node. This functionality is required by the Z-Wave spec. The fact that it's there means only this. It seems you are reading into something that isn't there.
Are you having any problems besides the one device you were trying to fix and the failed inclusions that got created for some reason after that?
Also note that a driver will not affect Z-Wave inclusion.
Z-wave detail page. Never saw the "Rebuild Route " buttons until the ghosts showed up and the Z-wave network repair reported failed nodes which matches the same nodes that want to be rebuilt. Thus, why I thought there is an issue with them.
Alexa has stopped doing commands ... reports cannot find device and rules are completely working . . . lights not turning off.
Now I'm only getting IDs up to 97, but my ghosts are in the 200 ranges. (In Z-Wave PC Controller)
I found the note on include/exclude multiple times, and more devices will load. No luck with that yet.
I managed to get rid of my USB stick ghost. My USB stick always shows up as a device on my hub. The Hub and Stick seem to be happier when near each other.
