I just moved from Hue bulbs to Sengled. They work great, but with the Sengled bulbs, they abruptly turn on/off. I liked the quick fade on/off with the Hue bulbs. Is there a way to replicate this behavior in Hubitat for non-Hue bulbs? Not a huge deal if there isn't, but I'm curious.
Thanks!
Which Driver are your Sengled bulbs using? Using the “Sengled” specific drivers results in the fade on/off behavior it sounds like you’d like. Using the “Generic Zigbee...” drivers results in the instant on/off behavior. At least, that has been my experience.
Remember, if you change the driver and click Save, be sure to then click CONFIGURE to have the new driver send Zigbee configuration commands to the bulb.

To add to @ogiewon's suggestion, the option you're looking for is "transition time". It can be set from ASAP to 5 seconds.

Note: I just ran a quick test using a Hubitat Group of Sengled bulbs. I noticed that if the Group has “Zigbee Group Mesaging” enabled, the bulbs will turn on/off instantly, even using the “Sengled...” drivers. This makes sense since I believe it is logic in the sengled drivers that causes the bulb to fade on/off. Using Zigbee group messaging, while good for reducing the popcorn effect, just sends a Zigbee broadcast command to the bulb group, bypassing the special fade on/off logic in the Sengled driver.

Ahh, this was the issue. Before I posted, I tried the "Transition Time" and it didn't work. I am using the Sengled bulb drivers, but am using groups with Zigbee Group Messaging enabled. Maybe I will try turning group messaging off and see if the popcorn effect is annoying enough to outweigh the benefit of the fade. I'd be curious to hear how some of you pros set yours up though!

I typically use Zigbee Group Messaging and live with the instant on/off behavior. My groups of bulbs are never larger than 2 bulbs, but the popcorn effect, although minor, just bothers me...
It’s really just personal preference, IMHO.

Just curious had anyone figured out groups for fading of sengled bulbs?
I have 6 br30 sengled down lights in my kitchen and the only way to get them to all work together is with the instant on/off of the zigbee group messaging
