Get access to bluetooth devices on the phone

Hi,
I dont know if its possible, but it would be cool to have a driver that list all bluetooth devices in the phone. So we could use the connect/disconnect to specific devices as trigger.
If not possible, please can you explain why because the information I think would be usefull for users...
Thanks & have a nice day!

On IOS devices you can already trigger an automation when a bluetooth device connects via shortcuts. You can use this to send an http request to your hubitat hubs cloud endpoint to trigger an automation on the hub.

For android… tasker prob can do the same.

Certainly possible using Tasker on Android, I have setup profiles that can do exactly this (with an accompanying app, but RM would likely provide a similar option). But I agree, it would be a nice addition to have the native Hubitat app do this out-of-the-box. To help this effort, I expect it would be useful to explain the situations you would see a benefit in having this available.

For me, not that I have used it specifically, I expect people would benefit from knowing when their phone is connected to their car to identify when travelling vs being in the home. Other situations could include connectivity to certain devices like headphones. One other benefit could be connectivity to a bluetooth device in the home, to be another indicator for presence in the home, or elsewhere for that matter.

My setup for this, in what I have developed, is to have child devices linked to my mobile device that represent the bluetooth devices linked to that mobile device, including a status of whether the bluetooth device is connected.

I already use it but in my phone, I only have connect as trigger, not the disconnect one. So I use a concentration mode (drive) because I need the car BT and use it to know when its connected or disconnected (the self function inside the drive mode) but not sure if it will really recognize my car...

A driver to create a switch based on the selected bluettoth device would be the way to do without any of those workaround...

I created a switch in hubitat for this (one for me and one for my wife) and use homekit to activate it through BT connection but now the homekit wont to share the home and the hubitat integration dont allow for multiple user...

So, I will have to use the url... and activate the switch from a piston to be able to use the turn on/off trigger on it....

I agree, for my part, I would like to know when my car is connected to my phone or wife phone... And with ios its not easy... I must use shortcut and trigger webcore piston...and then update the switch status to be able to use the changes trigger in another piston...

I tried to go with homekit, but It wont share the home and I think it wont work while away because I dont have any hub on it... and the homekit integration do not allow multiple users...
