why would the generic zwave switch have more features than the generic zwave plus switch (both built in drivers).. the non plus version has an option for the light on/off etc.. but the plus version does not?
same for the generic zwave outlet vs generic zwave plus outlet driver.
I think he means the indicator light preference
The zwave parameter numbers are not standardized, so I am surprised ANY generic driver would present parameter settings. Changing that could potentially change some other setting on the device if they happen to be using the parameter number that is coded in the driver for some other purpose.
I would us the basic zwave tool to manually set parameters if the device does not have a specialized driver for it, or if its a newer device you could try my scanner tool which will read the settings from the device and present them all as settings: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jtp10181/Hubitat/main/Drivers/generic/zwave-universial-scanner.groovy , not all devices support scanning for the settings.
