I have one GE/Jasco dimmer switch that invariably turns on after restoration from a power outage.
We just had a power flicker..long enough to trip some stuff, but not long enough to set the microwave and stove's lights a-blinking. That one GE/Jasco dimmer switch turned on.
I tried to simulate the behavior by flipping a breaker, but no dice.
The hub is on a battery backup, so that was uninterrupted.
I have a Ring Z-Wave extender V2 that I use to report power outages to the hub. After the outage, I run a rule (RM) to turn off those types of pesky devices.
My GE/Jasco switches and outlets on Smartthings back in the day would constantly fall off the network/hang during power flickers brownouts. Z-wave seems to hate poor power, but handles full off/on power outages just fine.
I still see the glitch once in a while after weird power flickers, but not so much since I have mostly new version switches now. Most of the time simply turning off the circuit to the switch for 5 or 10 seconds would get it back on the network.
i have a GE switch that would become completely unresponsive digitally, but work physically after a power outage. a factory reset of the switch and re-pair would fix it for me
I have the new version. They've been very dependable...except for the behavior of this one, and that only after an outage. Although, I wonder if the fact we very rarely use it could be a factor?
I found during this recent flicker incident that the Zooz plugs all went off line. So, a Zooz plug would be good as a trigger for a flicker, as well as a persistent outage.
