GE Enbrighten ZW4003 wont connect

Any one had luck pairing GE switch ZW4003? I have tried the Exclusion (like 4 times, even swearing at it), reset circuit breakers, up/down three times to factory reset, and perhaps even bribed with money to get them to factory fresh but still no connection when I try to add. And yes I ran a long ethernet cord so the Hubitat hub could be within 1 ft of the switch..

Had no problems with Light bulbs (Sylvania) and Leviton zigbee switch, but the remaining house switches are all the GE and its really gonna stink if those have got to be replaced.....

My ge's were a bear to pair. I followed this video and was able to get them to go.

if you put your hub in exclude and follow the video and exclude it, it should work. It did for me.

[EDIT]
May take a try or two, but all 10 of my switches paired within 3 tries with this method.

I don't have any zw4003 right now (all paddle style now), but I have paired zw4003 w/Hubitat before.

Did you try excluding in Hubitat, reboot Hubitat hub, try pairing?

Edit: what April posted is good too. If the pairing process is hung up in the hub, still may need a hub reboot in rare circumstances too.

Thanks for that April!! All of mine are the toggle type (on/off) or toggle type (dimmer) not the paddle type...so it lacks the disconnect, but will try the switch up 10 times....

I had to power cycle most of mine. If they have the air gap switch, that makes it easy. Otherwise I flipped the circuit breaker for that switch.

Ugh .. good luck. Pry a circuit breaker would be the way to go maybe?

i did try the exclude (would be nice if there was some feedback that a device actually got "excluded"), All I get is the 30 second countdown timer, that I then go to the switch and flip switch up once (per the directions) and wait for timer to expire, then go thru the "include" phase (60 seconds) and flip the switch up (again per instructions) and wait... and wait.... and then timer busts.

Doesn't sound like the reset/removal part is working then.

If successful, Hubitat does say something like "unknown device excluded".

So you must not be getting an exclusion for some reason.

yeah would be nice if some kindof feedback would happen... leaves the user with guessing if a disconnect actually happens, unless there actually is a response but my switches are disconnecting so Im not getting a response.

Thanks Neon!! Answered that question about if feedback actually occurs...

Do you have the logs page open in a second browser tab? When you start the exclude switch to the logs tab and watch for a successful exclude. If you don't, keep trying until you do.

Do you have another hub running, like a Wink? If so be sure to turn off your other Zwave hub while doing the exclusion and inclusion.

Great idea, thanks Zarthan!! Will give that a try....

good point, there is another hub in the house.... will the fact that there are two switches on the same circuit (think double pole double throw kindof thing) require both switches to be excluded? gonna be fun running up and down stairs if thats the case..

I think you can exclude them separately, I don't see any reason you would have to do them simultaneously. And I am not even sure you can do it at the same time, with Zwave you have to do one inclusion at a time, so the reverse should be true too.

Seems like killing the second wink hub out in the shed was key to getting the switches to let go.... Thanks all for the tips and quick help!!!

Thanks for this tip. I had to unplug my smartthings hub to get the exclusion to work.
