Has anyone DIY'd something like this or seen it done that could be usable with HE? I have seen a couple of videos on YouTube of people automating it but their skills & knowledge were far superior to mine.
Are you talking about using one of these with an opener that doesn't support it?

We have some MyQ integration, but I'd just like to use it as a free-standing lock.
I have a MyQ garage door already and would love to add a bolt lock to garage door to improve security. I am looking for cheaper alternative(s) (DIY or otherwise) than the Liftmaster version that I linked.
